    VASES & POTS

    Vases - Stylishly presenting flowers

Flowers are not only special accessories that transform our home into an oasis of well-being, but often also a symbol of love and friendship. With flowers, we also bring a seasonal decoration into our room, because fresh flowers stand for certain seasons. We buy the first tulips in spring, gladioli in summer and berry branches in autumn. That's why flower vases and pots are a basic accessory in every household.

However, vases do not only serve as containers for flower water, but are often real design elements and are usually very decorative even without flowers. At uccellino you will find a beautiful selection of vases, whether for long stemmed flowers, single flowers, branches or grasses. Whether you are looking for a modern decorative vase or an unusual designer vase - find the right model to create your own personal flower decoration.

Vases - Which vase for which flowers

Who hasn't experienced the situation when guests bring flowers and you don't have a suitable vase at hand! Vases are available in many different designs, from large floor vases to small table vases - made of many different materials and in a wide range of colours. But the most important aspect is the opening of the vases. The vases from uccellino are mainly with narrow openings and are suitable for single flowers, grasses and decorative branches - a flower decoration is made in no time at all. In order to be prepared for different decorations and flower arrangements, you should have several different flower vases in your household to be able to present each flower bouquet in an ideal way.

    Floor vases

As the name suggests, floor vases stand on the floor and are usually higher than 60 cm. Uccellino floor vases are made of wood or wooden agaves and all have a removable glass insert. This makes it very easy to refill or replace the water. For the decoration of the floor vases by uccellino, a few long-stemmed flowers, grasses or twigs from the garden or from a walk are enough to conjure up a super decoration. Due to the stable stand of the floor vases, very large branches can be decorated. Without the glass insert, you can decorate fir branches at Christmas time and thus replace a fir tree.

    Cylinder vases

One of the popular vase styles are cylinder vases, which are available at uccellino as glass inserts in marble vases, wooden vases, knitted vases and denim vases. This is because they protect the outer material and make filling with water and changing flowers very easy. Single or several long-stemmed plants can be beautifully presented here. The cylinder vases made of glass are also a beautiful decoration without a cover.

    Decorative vases

Decorative vases are vases with which you can decorate your dining table, sideboard or chest of drawers. It does not have to be an opulent bouquet, single flowers can also create a colorful accent in the room.

    Small vases

No household should be without small vases for individual flowers or delicate meadow bouquets - they look particularly good on the table or a small sideboard.

    Designer vases

Designer vases Designer vases are usually made of special materials and have unusual shapes, such as the jeans vase and Taille-Art vase by uccellino. If your furnishings are more colourful and varied, you should choose simple designer vases - in combination with brightly coloured flowers, your room will otherwise quickly look restless and overloaded and the flowers will be lost. The decoration has a calming and harmonious effect when the same colours and materials of the furnishings come into play again and again.

    Vases - Design & Material

Besides the shape, the material of the vase also influences the individual look of your interior. While glass vases, for example, are modern and minimalist, vases made of wood give a rustic and natural touch and break through a cool and minimalist interior. There are no limits to personal taste here. Metal, marble or concrete vases are also becoming more and more popular and fit particularly well into modern furnishing styles. The general rule is: vases should showcase your flowers beautifully and not be too obtrusive. Design vases, on the other hand, can be more eye-catching and look very beautiful even without any flowers as decoration. There are many possibilities when it comes to the colour of your vase. The decision whether it should be a discreet white or black vase or an eye-catching colourful vase depends on your interior. Sometimes we need that splash of colour in the vase, especially in the darker seasons.

    Vases - Cleaning & Care

Vases should always be clean, free of chalk residue and also free of old leaves and residue from the previous flower decoration. A dishwashing sponge, lukewarm water and mild washing-up liquid are usually enough to clean the vase. For narrow cylindrical vases, a tab of denture cleaner dissolved in lukewarm water and left to stand overnight is suitable for cleaning. Stubborn limescale deposits in glass vases can be removed with white vinegar and a little lemon juice.

How do flowers stay fresh longer?

A clean vase is very important. It is also important to change the flower water every two days. Some flowers should also be cut at an angle, as cutting a flower at an angle helps it to absorb more water, although this does not apply to all types of flowers. Sunflowers, for example, should be doused with boiled water after being cut, and gladioli should always be cut back at the stem. It is therefore best to find out how your type of flower should be treated when you buy it.

Tip: If you don't have time to buy fresh flowers, or if you want to decorate your vases during the holiday season, you can simply use artificial flowers. Nowadays, even if you look closely, you can hardly tell the difference.
