Hand knitting - a profession with passion

Our knitted cushions are all knitted by hand in Germany with the utmost care and passion for knitting. Both the knitted cushions made from pure merino wool and the cushions made from recycled T-shirt ribbon yarn are made by experienced hand knitters who work from home. This is how we guarantee high quality and fair working conditions.

Merino wool pillows - hand knitted for luxurious comfort

Our merino wool pillows are knitted from pure merino wool, which is known for its warmth and breathability. The standard stitch is around 2 cm, while for extra voluminous cushions we use chunky yarn that is knitted with the arms.

After knitting, the cushions are carefully washed in our uccellino manufactory. As the wool loses its shape during washing, the cushions are returned to their original shape when wet and lightly felted to refine the stitch pattern and achieve an even structure. This process ensures a stable shape while preserving the softness of the merino wool.

The cushion covers are then filled with high-quality goose feathers from German production. We choose especially thick inlets to guarantee that the feathers can develop their full comfort - and are not compressed by the knitted cover. The generous filling ensures luxurious comfort and pleasant support. Finally, the cushion covers are crocheted together at the top and bottom to ensure a stable shape and a perfect finish.

Cushions made from recycled yarn - sustainable and creative

Our knitted cushions made from recycled T-shirt ribbon yarn offer a sustainable alternative and are also made at home in Germany. This yarn is made from surplus fabrics and old T-shirts, which makes it particularly environmentally friendly. Again, the focus here is on craftsmanship and attention to detail, making each cushion unique.
