LUFTHANSA FIRST CLASS DINING EXPIRIENCE

In 2019 uccellino received the iF Design Award as well as the Red Dot Design Award for outstanding product design that was specially designed and produced for the airline Lufthansa. Since pure wooden plates are not permitted in on-board catering, the designer Ulrike Plüschau designed a so-called snack plate made of ash wood, which is elegantly composed with porcelain attachment.

Lufthansa offers first-class passengers a special on-board service and restaurant-like dining experience. As part of the dine-on-demand project, travelers can choose their individual dishes from the service cart. As a modern interpretation of a traditional hearty snack, the wooden board is ideal offering globetrotters cold cuts such as cheese or sausage. Another part of the concept is the starter plate from Dibbern´s Fine Bone China collection, which contains three small bowls for salads and appetizers, thus allowing the combination of different dishes.

Since 1953,iF Design has stood as a symbol of excellent design all over the world. Emerging from the "Special Show of Shape-Appropriate Industrial Products", the iF Product Design Award is one of the world´s largest and most renowned design awards today.

Since 1955, the Designzentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen" has also been awarding the famous "red dot" for outstanding product design: The Red Dot Design Award has established itself internationally as one of the most sought-after seals of quality for good design.
